Background of the Study

Immunization is one of the most effective public health interventions for reducing infant morbidity and mortality. Vaccination campaigns aim to ensure high immunization coverage and prevent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases (WHO, 2024). Nurses play a crucial role in vaccination campaigns by administering vaccines, educating parents, and addressing vaccine hesitancy (Adeyemi & Musa, 2023).

In Adamawa State, low immunization rates remain a challenge due to misinformation, logistical barriers, and cultural beliefs (Hassan & Usman, 2024). Nurse-led vaccination campaigns have been introduced to increase immunization uptake, yet their effectiveness has not been fully assessed.

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of nurse-led vaccination campaigns in improving immunization coverage for infants in Adamawa State.

Objectives of the Study

  1. To assess the impact of nurse-led vaccination campaigns on infant immunization coverage in Adamawa State.
  2. To examine the role of nurses in addressing vaccine hesitancy.
  3. To identify the challenges faced in implementing nurse-led vaccination campaigns.

Research Hypotheses

H₀: Nurse-led vaccination campaigns do not significantly improve infant immunization coverage.
H₁: Nurse-led vaccination campaigns significantly improve infant immunization coverage.

H₀: Nurses do not play a significant role in addressing vaccine hesitancy.
H₁: Nurses play a significant role in addressing vaccine hesitancy.
